Cops in Uniform Banned from Trump Rally

Priorities…

Within hours of President Donald Trump’s announcement to hold a rally at Target Center in downtown Minneapolis on October 10 the city’s Chief of Police decreed that no uniformed officers may attend the event.

From a WCCO-TV report:

When President Donald Trump comes to town next week, you won’t see any Minneapolis police officers in uniform alongside him.

Police Chief Medaria Arradondo announced a new policy hours after the president announced he was holding a rally at Target Center.

The announcement came at almost the same moment Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey Tweeted out his anger and hostility regarding the President’s visit:

“Our entire city will stand not behind the president, but behind the communities and people who continue to make our city — and this country — great. While there is no legal mechanism to prevent the president from visiting, his message of hatred will never be welcome in Minneapolis.”

The move by the chief of police and the remarks of the mayor come at a time when violent crime is spiraling out of control in the Twin Cities.

In just the past few days a man carjacked a vehicle off a busy Minneapolis thoroughfare, smashed into several cars (including a police car) crashed into a bakery store front, then backed out and continued driving the auto for several blocks before hitting a pole where the car burst into flames.

The driver then resisted arresting officers as they tried to pull him out of the burning vehicle.

Several innocent bystanders were seriously injured in the rampage.

The next day St. Paul police were busy investigating a rolling gun battle through city streets where 40 rounds were fired back and forth between the dueling occupants of the racing vehicles.

This comes on top of a summer of vicious beatings and muggings by gangs of minority youth “targeting” whites in downtown Minneapolis near the Target Field/Target Center sports complex.

This past weekend a shooting in the toney nearby Theater District left a man dead.

The violence has so alarmed downtown Minneapolis business owners that the city’s four professional sports teams (Twins, Vikings, Timberwolves & Lynx) issued a joint statement pleading for the immediate hiring of more police to patrol the streets.

Yet in the midst of the chaos the City Powers That Be have decided that the most pressing issue facing Minneapolis is the possibility that a city cop might wear xis or xer uniform to the Trump Rally.

The DFL has decreed what the city’s priorities should be, public safety be damned…
